Feel Good Foods

Did you know that the food you eat can impact:

  1. Your sleep
  2. Your mood
  3. Your energy levels
  4. Your skin
  5. Your digestion
  6. And the list goes on…

This week in my Everyday Nutrition program we’re talking about finding what I like to call, Feel Good Foods.

Feel Good Foods vary a lot from person to person!

Hormone imbalances, life imbalance, and other medical issues can be the cause of these problems, but food *can be* and is many times the culprit of some of these common issues:

Sleep. If your sleep was fitful, give some thought to what you ate the night before. Could it have kept you up?

Skin. Do you find that your skin breaks out more often when you eat certain foods?

Mood and energy levels. Do you feel lethargic after eating certain things?

Digestion. Are you having irregular bowel movements, or are they TOO frequent? Are you experiencing a lot of bloating and/or gas after eating certain foods?

Your body provides you with signals, every day. Some of them are more subtle and other are a little more in your face, but ultimately, your body is communicating with you. It tells you when you’ve eaten something that doesn’t sit well with you. And it tells you when you’ve found your feel food foods.

One final thought… serious bloating, acid reflux, and gastric distress is NOT normal. Please don’t accept this as a way to live forever. The key to this particular practice is working to incorporate mindfulness surrounding foods that make you feel good and foods that don’t, so you can live life to the fullest.

Focus in on your body. Get in tune with what it’s telling you. This isn’t an overnight fix. Prepare to buckle up for the long haul.

But trust me when I say it is SO worth the time and effort. <3
